Coverage Options

Liability coverage protects you if you are held legally responsible for bodily injury (medical bills, lost wages, and other special circumstances) or property damage liability (damage to other vehicles, buildings, and other property) to another person or business. Deductibles do not apply to liability coverage.

Coverage Limits

Choosing the right coverage limit is an important part of your insurance policy. For example, if you were legally held liable for $175,000 of bodily injury liability to an individual, and your insurance policy had a bodily injury maximum of $50,000 of per occurrence, you would be responsible for the difference. Choosing the right coverage limits for your policy protects you from the unexpected and gives you peace of mind. We’ll help you select coverage and limits that are right for you.

Deductibles

A deductible is the amount that you pay out of pocket on a covered loss before insurance begins to pay. For example, if you accidentally hit a pole backing out of a parking garage and cause $1200 of damage to your vehicle, how does your deductible affect paying for the repair? If you have a $500 collision deductible you will have to pay the first $500 to get the vehicle fixed and the insurance company will then pay the remaining $700.  Setting your deductible higher reduces your total premium. Before you decide on a deductible it is also important to consider how much you can afford in an unexpected event.
